A Special Thank You to a Supporter

Many times requests are numerous, and thank yous rare. We at The House don’t want to be part of that statistic.

Because of your generosity, your gift enables us to show and verbalize that dreams of The House are widely shared and supported by people and companies like yourself. THANK YOU!

Some of our appointments are producing results. No doubt, we know that what we share is important. It’s urgent. We hope that every individual we meet chooses to become a team player in our collaborative networking for The House programs and financial operational needs.

The House is structured as a solution to a specific problem and it defines the problem as our society’s inability to keep our youngsters safe and positively engaged outside of the time they spend in school. A big plus of The House is that it’s an alternative to student loitering and petty theft at Potomac Mills, and to the latch-key students, along with their parents, looking for something between the hours of 2pm and 6pm. At this time, The House offers:

  • After-school programs Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. until 6 p.m., to enhance areas of our student’s academic, recreational, cultural and life skills.
  • Open House Friday and Saturday evenings, 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. for all youth of our community to use the facility.

Here's a huge endorsement: The Superintendent’s office for Prince William County Schools has endorsed The House-another marketing tool we can use showing the degree of support we have received. We are pleased to communicate that at the in-service days two weeks ago, The House was introduced to faculty and staff. Our volunteer staff has been to all middle and high schools with our materials seeking students that will benefit from our program.

The Chamber of Commerce has introduced us. The Executive Editor of the Potomac News wrote a phenomenal piece about The House on November 13, 2005, opening many more doors of opportunity. The word is getting around!

We just believe the profile of our young people will become radically different because of your vested interest and those yet to partner with us.

Warmest regards,

Only Days Now

Hello to All of our wonderful volunteers,

This email is to remind you of our very very important meeting which will be SUNDAY, NOV 6, 5:00 p.m.

We have just finished a very demanding and wonderful week of promotion. On Wednesday we hosted a reception for people to whom we have been marketing The House. We had a good turn out and some great contacts and relationships were built. We'll tell you more about this on Sunday.

We are now officially open. Our first session begins on November 14!

We are in building ONE (the one on the left) in the first corner space. That is where the meeting on Sunday will be. We do not have set hours there though, in case you drop in we may or may not be there.

OUR FIRST OFFICIAL EVENT TO THE STUDENTS WILL BE SATURDAY NOVEMBER 12.

You will get the update on this event at our Sunday meeting. AND you don't even have to bring a chair this time.

We are hosting a booth at Hylton Memorial Chapel, last night -- Saturday night -- for a large rally for Americas youth. Bishop Reeves and Tommy Tenney are the guests. It is giving us great exposure.

IF you have any thing that you were hoping to do for The House before it opens, NOW IS THE TIME.

We do have a list of must haves:
  • large screen TV (Best Buy is offering an incredible deal.)
  • 2 new couches
  • computer lab networked and readied
Also: ANYTIME YOUR PURCHASE ANYTHING AT BEST BUY if you will tell them you want The House to get recognition for your purchase, The House will get a portion of the money you spend. Tell this to everyone you know EVERYONE. If you are asked for a number, use The House phone number: 703.928.2105. REALLY, TELL THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. BEST BUY IS BEING ONE OF OUR BEST FRIENDS. AND EVERY PURCHASE THERE MATTERS FOR US IF THEY GET THAT INFORMATION.

We are now accepting applications for the first session. So if there is anyone you have spoken to who said they wanted their teen in on this, now is the time to get them registered. A registration form can be printed off of our web page: www.thehouse-inc.com

We have worked towards it for months.

We now only have days until the students arrive.

Thanks for your partnership.
